Main procedures of pool vinyl liner

High-speed mixer: Raw materials - PVC resin, plasticizers, heat stabilizers, fillers, and pigments - are precisely weighed and then blended in a high-speed mixer. Friction heat (~110–120°C) turns the mix into a dry, free-flowing powder, which is then cooled in a separate cooling mixer to stop it from gelling too early.

High-speed mixer

Raw materials - PVC resin, plasticizers, heat stabilizers, fillers, and pigments - are precisely weighed and then blended in a high-speed mixer. Friction heat (~110–120°C) turns the mix into a dry, free-flowing powder, which is then cooled in a separate cooling mixer to stop it from gelling too early.

Internal (Banbury) mixer

The dry blend is fed into an internal mixer, where intense shear and heat (~160–180°C) melt it into a soft, homogeneous mass. A two-roll mill then works it further and feeds a continuous strip toward the calender - usually after a screen pack and metal detector strain out any contaminants.

Four-roll calender

The core step This is the heart of the line. The molten compound passes through four heated, rotating rolls - arranged in an L, inverted-L, Z, or S layout - with progressively narrower gaps. Each gap squeezes the material thinner, forming it into a film of precise, uniform thickness with a smooth surface.

Embossing, cooling & winding

After the calender, an embossing roll can press a texture or pattern into the surface (for matte or leather-look films). Cooling drums then set the film, an online thickness gauge checks quality, and finally the winder rolls the finished film into large master rolls - ready for slitting or further processing.
