What is standard swimming pool ?

The standard swimming pool is 50 meters long and 21 meters wide. The Olympic World Championships require 25 meters wide. In addition Swimming Pool, there is also the length of 25 meters of swimming pool known as the short pool. The water depth is deeper than 1.8m. There are 8 swimlanes, each 2.5m wide, plus 0.5m for the side lane. The departure platform shall be centered on the center line of each lane, and the platform shall be 50cm × 50cm. The front edge of the water surface facing the platform shall be 50-70cm higher than the water surface, and the inclination of the platform surface to the water surface shall not exceed 10 degrees. Generally, the bank width of the swimming pool is not less than 5m from the starting platform end, and that of the rest is not less than 3m. For the official competition pool, the bank width of the departure pool shall not be less than 10 meters, and the width of other banks shall not be less than 5 meters. There are also 25 meter swimming pool competitions in the world.

(1) Generally, the pool length is 50m, and the allowable error is + 0.03m. The electric shock board time regulator can be installed at the pool end (the electric shock board specification is 2.4m × 0.9m × 0.01M, and it is placed 30cm above the pool wall water surface at both ends. Immerse 60 cm in water. The color of the board surface is bright and marked with the same mark line as the pool wall mark line.) The total length of the pool is 50m, the length of the short pool is 25m, the total length of the short pool is 25m, and the allowable error is + 0.02M. The tank walls at both ends must meet this requirement from 30cm above the water surface to 80cm below the water.

(2) The pool is 21m wide and 25m is required for the Olympic World Championships.

(3) The water depth is required to be ≥ 1.8m. A rest platform with a width of 10-15cm can be set on the pool wall within 1.2m from the water surface.

(4) Each lane of the competition swimlane is 2.5m wide, and the side lane is added with 0.5m. There is a lane dividing line between the two swimlanes. The lane dividing line is hung on both ends of the pool wall with buoy line. The pool wall is equipped with a hanging line hook. The pool bottom and the pool end wall should be equipped with the swimlane center line, which is a dark marking line.

(5) The departure platform shall be centered on the center line of each lane, and the platform shall be 50cm × 50cm. The front edge of the water surface facing the platform shall be 50-70cm higher than the water surface. The table top shall not incline to the water surface for more than 10 ", and the athletes shall be able to grasp the table top at the front and both sides when starting. The backstroke handshake device which does not protrude outside the pool wall shall be set on the starting table, 30-60cm higher than the water surface, and there are two kinds of horizontal and vertical handshakes. The number of swimlanes shall be marked around the departure platform, and the numbers shall be arranged from right to left.

(6) Overflow tanks should be installed on both sides of the swimming pool to maintain the requirements of the pool water and drain the floating dirt on the surface. The climbing ladder of swimming pool shall be embedded in the pool, generally 4-6, and its position shall not affect the referee's work. 

(7) The pool wall must be vertical and flat, the pool bottom shall be antiskid, and the pool surface layer shall be flat and clean and easy to clean. Generally, the wall of the pool is pasted with white Masek, the bottom of the pool is pasted with white glazed tiles, and the sign line of the swimlane is black glazed tiles.

(8) Generally, the bank width of the swimming pool is ≥ 5m at the starting platform end, and ≥ 3M at the rest. Formal competition pool, departure pool bank width ≥ 10m, other bank width ≥ 5m
